Terius Behind Me eps. 7-12

So many things to love!

I love that Aerin is one smart cookie! She was able to crack the code of the forbidden door, had the sense to take pictures of the bags, go to the PC and find that excel spreadsheet and create her own analysis of the numbers. On the downside, she gave it all up to yongtae when he had her kidnapped. Oh man i wonder how and if she will ever find those files again. It is definitely a critical data for NIS.

Likewise she is starting to get suspicious of Bon because of his strange habits. I was thinking until when can Bon sustain his double cover life when Aerin is slowly discovering more things and putting the clues all tigether. I love that the show is fast paced. In just 6 episodes his cover is almost already blown.

I still find Jiyeon and Dowoo quite dumb NIS. So far they havent really done anything except backup Bon. I guess theyre real purpose for niw is to give Bon a team and try to search for the mole.

I also love how we slowly learn more about what happened to Bon after candy got killed through flashbacks and conversations with Jiyeon that is proving to be relevant. And it is akso answering my questions. Like how did he know about the tarot card website? Or why did he ran away from NIS? Surprised to see the lady NIS chief . Is she really the mole? Or maybe its that head of NIS guy. So far he just justbeen showing up in one scene or another but im sure he will prove to be more crucial later on.

Im still confused with Yongtae’s role in all of this. Who is giving him orders? Did he really have plastic surgery? Who did he used to be? Why does he keep calling Aerin? Does he like her? Will he remain a bad guy or will he move to Bon’s side?

Im also thinking that pretty soon NIS and KIS might merge once Bons cover is down. I mean KIS has been more successful in getting intel than NIS. The lady boss seems oretty competent to me and Sangryul used to be an army guy. He knows planes too. I think they will be quite useful to Bon.

The kids are still so adorable! Super loved the kids cafe scenes where they were sliding down. SJS looked so cute and happy! And his reaction when he did the slide with Sangryul is hilarious!

This is such a fluffball show – it has comedy, action mystery, family. It doesnt take itself too seriously. I dont thunk this will win any award for best drama but it’s a feel good show worth checking out!

Terius Behind Me eps. 1-6

Terius_Behind_Me-p01

Drama: Terius Behind Me (내 뒤에 테리우스)
Network: MBC
Episodes: 32
Release Date: September 27 – November 15, 2018
Runtime: Wednesdays & Thursdays 22:00 (35 minutes each / 2 episodes per day)

Plot
Kim Bon used to be a NIS secret agent. 3 years ago, he was involved in a secret operation gone wrong, where his lover died and he is accused of stealing an important document. Since then, he has been quietly living in an apartment, away from people. He lives next door to a harried young mother, Go Ae-rin. One day, Ae-rin loses her husband, leaving her to fend for herself and her two kids. Kim Bon ends up helping her try to uncover her husband’s mysterious death, which may be connected to his case, all the while juggling as a babysitter to Ae-rin’s unruly kids.

Main Cast
So Ji Sub – Kim Bon
Jung In Sun – Go Ae Rin
Son Ho Jun – Jin Yong Tae
Im Se Mi – Yoo Ji Yeon

First impressions
I normally watch a drama after it has finished because I can’t wait every week for new episodes. For the first time I’m making an exception because I just missed So Ji Sub on screen! At first, i thought the plot was just ordinary. He always plays a super cool guy but i was hoping for lots of cute scenes with the adorable kids after seeing the BTS pictures. I also didn’t like the girl he is being paired with so I didn’t mind if there was no romance. I think the last time he was in a serious drama was in Phantom.

Anyways, back to the drama. The drama has a mystery and a case but it didn’t feel too heavy. The drama feels lighthearted, alternating between the dark mysterious NIS agents and the missing document and the fluffy with Kim Bon as a babysitter and interacting with the neighborhood moms and the kids. Super super love So Ji Sub and his deadpan expressions — just too hilarious! He also seems like he is having a fun time shooting the scenes with the kids. Looking at him interacting with the kids make me think he will be a great dad someday. Ae-rin is not bad, i like her personality and spunk. I don’t understand how she can have such unruly kids when she seems like a great mom – she knows how to balance disciplining her kids and loving them so much. I still don’t feel like Ae-rin should end up with Bon because she just recently love her husband who she loved very much. For her to fall in love with Bon that quickly just doesn’t seem so realistic. But I think they need each other – Aerin and her kids can thaw that self imposed wall on Bon’s heart and let him learn to trust and get close to people again while Bon can be a great friend to Aerin and good father figure for the kids.

The neighbor moms and dad are also funny!! I have a feeling they have a better network than the NIS agents. They don’t need cool and advanced gadgets, they just need caring and nosy moms who will fight hell to keep their children safe. There were several scenes where the neighborhood mom were trying to get the handsome babysitter’s attention by giving him drinks, or saying he looks like So Ji Sub (heehee) and that scene where they cued a background music while he drinks soda, as if he’s filming a CF, and the two moms’ reactions were priceless!

I still dont know what to think of Yong Tae. He seems too inexperienced to be the villain – esp against the hot and cool So Ji Sub, but i dont mind. I dont want this drama to take itself too seriously – just enough mystery to keep the adventure going yet light enough that it wont drag the story down. I’m curious what happened 3 years ago and who is the real mole. and if it has anything to do with Yong Tae. and that badass assassin – who is that guy? he looks Chinese. I want him and Bon fight man to man on screen. haha!

If you’re still undecided if you’ll watch this drama or not.. i’d say, what the heck are you waiting for? So Ji Sub alone is enough for you to tune in!

Live eps. 7-12

It’s pretty hard to stop watching this show! This is not a fast paced show or filled with mystery or humor, but every scene just gets to you. i’m starting to love every single person in the division – they all have their own lives and struggles and they are dedicated with their jobs. Esp for the 3 rookies and demoted detective, you can see them grow up and mature in every episode. The whole division is also starting to come together as one united unit.

Hyeri – i started out annoyed with her because she kept whining and scowling but she is starting to grown on me. she is finally learning to appreciate her mentor, who might be old but still has a lot of things to teach her. I absolutely felt sad seeing him getting beat up by the kids and i’m so glad that Hyeri found a way to help him. Now they look so cute together – like father and daughter. i really hope Sambo gets to retire safely. I was thinking that Hyeri seems to match better with Sangsu compared to Jeong Oh but i also like the idea of another guy taking an interest in her.

Sangsu – even after 6 episodes, i still feel like he still isn’t man enough or a good match for Jeong Oh. He has grown up a lot and that’s partly due to Yangchon’s rough guidance and partly due to wanting to show off and try to be a better man for Jeong Oh. He still is a bit reckless though, sometimes much more than Yang chon. and i bet that’s how Yangchon was when he was younger. the problem is Sangsu doesn’t seem to be as smart as Yangchon and his cockiness and recklessness gets him and his mentor in trouble most of the time. I like that he is finally getting good cases and he is finally learning what it means to be a cop and to serve. I don’t mind his one sided love for Jeong Oh, i think it’s  cute and keeps him inspired, but i really dont feel that Jeong Oh has changed her mind. I see them only as good friends so i hope the show doesn’t ruin that and suddenly put them together coz that wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

Jeong-oh – she’s tough and brave, esp after finding out what she went through when she was young. im a little bit confused though. she met Jangmi when Jangmi rescued her in a dark warehouse- but we dont know why she was there and what happened. then we find out she was raped hence her hesitancy to build a relationship with guys. i also dont think she really wanted to be a cop after what happened when she was young. It seemed like she joined the academy because she couldn’t get a job. but im glad she did because she is one fine cop. im sure she will become a great detective like Jangmi one day. She is getting all the good cases. as for the romance, i think her character matches well with Myeongho, but it seems like he still hasn’t gotten over his dead girlfriend. and i read previews that they will break up soon. oh well, maybe it’s not the right time for them. she needs to concentrate in her career and learn to love herself first before she can fully love another person. As for Myeong ho, seems like he either needs more time to grieve or he has to take that first step to move on and choose happiness.

Yangchon – his character is complex and i cant feel his struggle of wanting to be a better family man yet still be dedicated to his job. i like that he has finally admitted to himself that he wasn’t the best person and that he is now trying to make amends. as i mentioned in my previous post, i felt that Jangmi is too cold, expression less and bland tone that i couldn’t understand how two guys are fighting over her. i still feel she is too cold but i can see that maybe she is like that because she has put a wall as she continues to face grim cases day by day. it must be really hard to see murders and rape and not let it affect you and not having your husband comforting you. i’m glad they are starting to be comfortable again with each other and maybe they can be together again as a couple.

i like the episodic cases but sometimes i feel it’s a bit unrealistic that they are able to catch every single serial rapist or bust an illegal prostitution ring and corrupt official in just a few days or weeks. i also like the little bits and pieces of advice and views on life, which is relatable to everyone watching the show.

im not sure what other big cases or climax they will write in the last few episodes but i hope it will be good. i’m dreading when this show ends – i hope the chief doesn’t die of cancer. will they all stay in the same division or go their separate ways? i hope there will be a season 2.

Black eps. 6-7

These two episodes were a bit boring. Episode 6 mainly featured Mansoo’s Halloween party as the backdrop for the episode. Lots of little things happened during the party, such as:

Cute costumes that they wore. Haram wore Fiona, who unknowingly, matched with Mansoo’s Shrek costume. In the first place, why would Mansoo asked to wear an ugly costume while he is the host of his own party is beyond me. He should fire his stylist. Though thr glow in thr dark makeup was cool (but not worth 2million).

On the other hand, Haram made Black look like Joe Black complete with suit with the peanut butter on hand. Harams jaw dropped when Black came to the party looking so handsome, but why would she be surprised. He looks so damn hot in his black suit every day!

We see Mansoo getting a little jealous of Black and Haram, furthet cementing his budding crush/attraction to the oblivious Haram. Haram, on the othrt hand, saw how Soo wan kissed Black at the balcony also felt jealous

Speaking of Soo wan, she resigned from the hospital and was on her way to thr airport when Assassin guy took Blacks phone and lured her to the party. She was able to stab assassin with a small knife and the assassin ran away.

Black teleported on top of the assassins car inside the tunnel and we see them fighting until assassin stabbed Black and threw him off the bridge.

Black survived and he teleported back to his home. However to his surprise, he can no longer get out of Moogang’s body. So looks like he is stuck inside Moogang for the time being.

I’m a little confused by this new rule. Before they said if moo gang double dies then he also dies inside his body. But looks like thats not the case, as he is merely stuck in that body forever. Or is it a way for him to be with Haram at the end since he will be the real Moogang?

Assassin kidnaps Soowan after “killing” Black.

Episode 7 featured mostly the story of Moo gang’s childhood best friend, Seungchul, who died in the collapse of the Time Mart 20 years ago, and his parents. I didnt like this storyline much. Turns out the Time Mart owner, Woo Byung sik, who everyone thought died in a car accident 20 years ago, merely faked his own death and escaprd to thr Philippines. He has a mistress and son living there.

Seungchul’s mom became a maid in the Philippines and when Byung sik found out, he had her pushed off a cliff and was hopsitalized in Seoul.

Seungchuls father tried to take his revenge by kidnapping Byungsiks son and blowing him up in front of a live audience but Byungsik is one step ahead as he had assassin guy switch dad’s wife and Byungsik’s son and the dad unknowingly killed his own wife.

Dad eventually died after and Byung sik tried to escape via a small boat (maybe going to china). But assassin guy, who Byung sik hired to help him, betrayed him and killed him. So much for escaping 20 years ago when he gets killed anyway .

The main takeaway from this story is that there are other people who has the butterfly watch. I am guessing its a secret society of something and now someone is trying to silence the members who are proving to be a liability.

Last piece of vital information is introduction of Leo. We saw him before in the first episode with Mansoo. This episode we find out that met with old Moogang and he is confused why Black doesnt remember him. He received a threatening letter, which Black thinks was sent by Loser (the guy he is chasing after). I dont like Leo, mostly because he is such a jerk and he sulks alot. Maybe we just need to see him in thr next episodes to unravel his story.

Black eps. 2-4

A lot of answers to our initial questions were revealed in the next 3 episodes.

We found out a little bit more about the grim reaper life – a person who commits suicide becomes a grim reaper, whose job is to collect the souls of the dead.. And they are actually the shadows that Haram sees. We are also introduced to 2 of 444’s buddies.. 007 who is an old guy and the rapper who looks alot like tablo (i didnt catch his number).

We also found out why 444 had to possess Moo gang’s body – to look for the loser who went in hiding. The loser is coincidentally that guy who committed suicide at the bridge.

The next few episodes also took us through how 444 is trying to adjust in Moo gang’s body (quite hilariously) and to the confusion of the people around him. He is bolder, braver, smarter, colder, but i am loving this new Moo gang vs the old one.

With 444 possessing Moo gang, he is now also being hunted by the death squad, which so far has not shown up and remains unthreatening.

Haram is still abit of clueless and doing nothing much except sulk, think of her first love Joon, getting to the new Moo gang, arguing with her estranged mom and work on trying to find out more about her father’s death after she meets cutie guy who seems to be very helpful is finding the spider tattooed guy. I would love to see her be more active and using her unusual gift to help solve crimes.

On the other hand, we get a bit of a background on cute guy.. Turns out hes the bastard son of the former owner of Royeol Insurance. Who is now run by his coldhearted half brother. Seems like the dad had some shady dealings as allided by the brothet who is trying to clean up the mess that his dad made.. Im guessing this has to do with the old Chunso insurance, which may also be connected to Haram’s father’s death. For now im happy just seeing Harama and cute guy together. I think they are more suited together.. They look like theyre of the same age and have the same lost lonely puppy look. Im also looking forward for cute guy to dig up something on his brothet, redeem himself and save Royeol insurance. Im just worried he will fall in love with Haram.

Im still confused with the story of Moo gang and Soo wan. Soo wan is hiding something. Maybe related to a gang. We finally see whats on the tape that she was hiding. Too bad moo gang didnt wait long enough to watch it as it sure is going to be interesting and vital to his survival.

In the mean time, aside from the murder in episode 1, we get to see 2 more murders, one is of director of hope mental hospital where the murderer is missing. The othet is theat lady who Haram predicted in thr first episode will freeze to death, and who happens to be Soo wan’s friend) and may be connected to what Moo gang is trying to investigate. Im not sure if the 2 murders are connected. Or if theyre also connected to Harams fathers death. Coz we are now looking for a guy with a hook scar, misisng middle finger and spider tattooed hand.

So far black hasn’t really cared much about Moo gang’s body and his relationship with other people. But when he ound out that someone is trying to kill Moo gang, he will have to continue Moo gang’s investigation before he gets killed. As a rule of the grim reaper, if Moo gang dies while Black is inside Moo gangs body, he will also die since then Moo gang will have died twice.

So far im loving the show but theres too many stories unfolding at thr same time that os is getting hard to follow.. Esp that almost everyone is connected with one another. With every scene and new character we get more queations than answers. But of course after 4 episodes the show is still trying build up thr suspense and the slow revelations. I wouldnt be surprised of thr entire thing is connected to one bigger case.

I am surprised that song seung huns acting in this show. Very different from his usual acting and shows different range of emotions. I cant say the same for Ara though. I think she should be given more material so she can step up and do better.

I would love to see more case working skills from the detectives so they can prove themselves.

The inevitable storyline is the romance between Black and Haram.. Im not yet sure how i feel about it but lets see how it goes.
